In late 2016, Bryce and Madi started emailing one another after finding they shared a sperm donor on the Donor Sibling Registry. Bryce went to Virginia to celebrate Thanksgiving with Madi and her family.
Bryce made a few efforts to keep track of DNA family, and had already befriended some of the moms of donor kids on Donor Sibling Registry. He had also done a 23 and Me DNA test, but found no genetic half-siblings, no donor, and no close family of the donor on the site.
By December, Aaron, curious about his part sperm donation career’s outcome, took a DNA test and found himself staring down the “DNA relatives” page on 23 and Me.
He wrote Bryce and Bryce wrote back, saying he knew of six siblings.
Two months later, Jessica and Alice did a DNA test and found Bryce and Aaron on 23 and Me. Jessica wrote to both.
That spring, Jessica, Alice, Bryce, and Madi flew to Seattle to meet Aaron.
